Charcoal And Rose Clay Melt And Pour Soap Recipe

Charcoal And Rose Clay Melt And Pour Soap Recipe

I’m back at it with my melt and pour soap recipes, I totally forgot how easy and fun these are to make! My husband’s grandma is in town and she mentioned how last year I made some soap for her that she just loved. Well of course I can’t send her home without a fresh new batch so I got to work on cresting a few different recipes for her.

Both my husband’s grandma and grandpa have diabetes and skin exfoliation is crucial as people that have diabetes are prone to dry skin and skin infections from dry/irritated skin. The perfect soap for this condition is a gentle exfoliating recipe with a moisturizing component as well. After doing some Pinterest digging, I decided that a combination of activated charcoal and rose clay would be just what I wanted.

Activated charcoal is great for skin as it can help draw out toxins and impurities from the skin while also gently exfoliating the skin and unclogging pores. Rose clay is also known for drawing out impurities of the skin as well as removing excess oil which leads to clogged pores. As all of this deep cleaning can lead to overly dry skin, the shea butter soap base will add in a deep, rich moisture which will leave your skin feeling squeaky clean but very soft.

Adding in some amazing essential oils and moisturizing coconut oil also take this one over the top. Plus, the amazing color contrast is just so beautiful, not to mention all natural! These beauties will be the perfect gift or a special treat for yourself. The result is an amazing, professional looking soap that takes so little time to make!

This rose clay and charcoal melt and pour soap tutorial will detoxify and exfoliate your skin while leaving it feeling soft and moisturized.

Activated Charcoal And Rose Clay Soap Recipe

  1. Begin by cutting your soap bases into 1-2 inch cubes, making sure to keep the clear separated from the shea butter base. Once cut, place your clear soap base in one microwaveable container and your shea butter base in another.

  2. Beginning with the clear base, microwave in 30 second intervals until all is completely melted. Stir with a spoon to ensure all is melted and smooth.

  3. Add in 2 teaspoons of activated charcoal into the container and stir to mix well.

  4. Add in anywhere between 10-20 drops each of Ylang Ylang, Vanilla, and Sandalwood essential oils. The more you add, the stronger the scent of the soap will be. Mix well.

  5. Fill 1/3 of the bottom of your circular soap molds with your activated charcoal soap mix. You should be able to fill 6 molds (1/3 full).

  6. Now you will want to melt your shea butter soap in 30 second intervals in the microwave. Ensure all is melted and stir well.

  7. Add in 2 teaspoons of rose clay. This will tend to clump together, mix as well as possible while smoothing any clumps against the sides of the container. Over time the clay will disperse evenly into the soap base.

  8. Add 1 teaspoon of fractionated coconut oil and stir. Add another 10-20 drops each of Ylang Ylang, Vanilla, and Sandalwood essential oils. Mix well again.

  9. Wait until this mixture has reach about 125-130 degrees F before proceeding. Typically this means that there is a very thin skin on the top of the soap base and the container will feel warm to the touch but not hot.

  10. Once this temperature is reached, spray the charcoal layer of soap in the molds with a spray bottle filled with 90% rubbing alcohol. This allows the layers to adhere. Now, pour your rose clay mixture over top of the charcoal layer, completely filling all 6 molds.

  11. If you have any bubbles on the top, you can use the spray bottle of alcohol to remove them.

  12. Sprinkle a few rose petals on the top of each mold.

  13. Let soap harden completely, remove from molds and package!
