Petit Vour Beauty Subscription Box: December Review
Now that the holiday craziness has died down, its time to get back into my clean beauty reviews! I received my Petit Vour December beauty box right before we left on vacation for Christmas and I was excited to be able to bring along a few new products with me! Overall this was a pretty great box (not that I have ever received a bad one!) with one standout for me. Read on to see what I loved and why! Han Skincare Cosmetics Concealer
This product was the clear favorite for me. Due to my dark under eye circles that literally never go away no matter how much sleep I get - I am always in the need for a good concealer. You guys I have tried so many an while I have found some that work for me, I have found many more that don’t even come close to masking the darkness under my eyes. Han is a good quality brand that I am no stranger to and I was excited to see their name on the package. The most exciting feature for me in this product is that fact that it is a liquid concealer, I am a big fan of liquid as opposed to a cream (the latter of which is much more common in the clean beauty world). On first use I was pleased to see that the shade blended into my skin very well (thank you Petit Vour for sending me the perfect match!) and it offered really great coverage without looking caked on at all.
As an added bonus, the formulation also packs in nourishing Vitamin E, argan oil, shea butter, and green tea to moisturize and perk up that delicate under eye area! The product compares well to the concealer that I was currently using but was an even better match for my skin tone and is also more reasonably priced so moving forward I will be using this concealer! Bottom line: great concealer and reputable brand for a very reasonable price.

True Moringa Rejuvenating Body Polish
So let me preface this with the fact that I loooove coffee and have even posted on my blog a DIY coffee scrub recipe that I enjoyed making and using…. so I am definitely not anti-coffee scrub by any means. With that said I was not completely in love with this product. For me, this particular scrub was not super moisturizing due to what seemed to be a low oil component to the scrub. Based on the reviews of others (this product is in fact highly well reviewed) many people find this lesser oily component as a good thing as it doesn’t make the shower slippery and it lets the scrub work more effectively because it doesn’t glide off. So understand that this is just my opinion and the way I view the product but know that it is not in itself a bad product and many people love it!
The product did do a good job at exfoliating my skin and was also very invigorating for my senses and skin although the scent was not my favorite (I don’t feel that the Rosemary paired with the coffee well). Following the application you are then left with quite a mess in the shower, now again this is not new to me as I have used many coffee scrubs in the past - it’s just that if I am going to have to clean up a mess I want the experience to be truly worth it! Bottom Line: effective at exfoliation but not super moisturizing
Cost: $34 for 4 oz.
Golfaden MD Brightening Elixir
To be honest, I was expecting to not like this serum based on my previous experience with the brand (I used their under eye serum with little results). I am happy to report however that I did enjoy the results of this product and think it has great promise. The sample sent to me was only enough to give me about three days worth of application so I can not speak to long term results, but in the short term I definitely felt that my skin appeared a bit brighter and was way smoother. The other great thing about this serum is the aspect of prevention, it helps to protect against photo damage and free radical damage to the skin from the sun and environment. The serum absorbs into the skin very well and doe snot leave a greasy feeling so it is perfect to put on in the morning underneath makeup and moisturizer to add an extra dose of brightness and protection. The only drawback that I see if the cost, it is definitely pricey but a little of the serum does go a long way so a full sized bottle should last several months I would think. I am on the fence about if I will buy the full size, I am tempted to based on the short term results that I see and may make the splurge in the near future! Bottom Line: brightens and protects but a little costly
Cost: $80 for 1 Fl.Oz
Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Soothing Body Lotion
I was happy to see another Andalou Naturals lotion in my box, I love this brand’s products and am still happily using the last lotion I was sent. Due to the travel size that is typically given in the boxes I put them in my car and purse and use them for dry hands or elbows when needed. The rose in this formulation adds so much soothing, both on the skin and to the senses. It contains rosehip oil, argan oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, and aloe vera to intensely moisturize while the rosewater adds antioxidants to the skin. During the winter my girls always get extremely itchy and dry skin and this lotion has been able to soothe their skin and provide some relief from the itchiness! Bottom Line: super moisturizing lotion, great scent and very reasonably priced
Cost: $2 for 1.7 fl. oz. or $14 for 8 fl. oz.
And that is it for my December review! I just received my January box and it is such a good one, I can not wait to share it all with you after I have tried everything out! Until next time clean beauty lovers!
