Homemade Apple Pie Shower Soap Cubes
I’m not exactly huge on pie, but I can’t deny the delicious smells and taste of a homemade apple pie! I knew I wanted to make something this fall season that really put those scents front and center, then a little project mishap brought this recipe to fruition. Funny how sometimes project failures can bring on something totally unplanned yet amazing!
I had been working on creating a creamy, lathering body wash and initially I thought I had hit a home run. Well, fast forward a day later when I went to use it in the shower and the mixture had solidified! I was at first disappointed, but then I realized I could use a similar combination of ingredients and make what I call body wash/shower soap cubes! These little cubes provide enough moisturizing lather for 1-3 showers and can be stored in an air tight container when not in use. Also, extreme bonus points for these smelling AMAZING!!
While I still have not perfected the liquid body wash recipe, these shower cubes definitely have their place in my heart… and now on the blog! Read on to get the full tutorial!

DIY Apple Pie Soap Cubes Recipe
Begin by dicing your melt and pour soap base into 1 inch cubes.
Melt your soap in 30 second intervals until all is melted.
Stir in 1.5 Tablespoons of brown sugar. This will add a nice scent as well as help with gentle exfoliation.
Add in 1 Tablespoon of Grapeseed or Almond Oil.
Add 15 drops each of Clove, Ginger, and Cinnamon essential oils. Add in 7 drops of Nutmeg essential oil. Stir all ingredients together well.
Add 1 cup of distilled water and stir well.
Carefully pour mixture into your square/cube molds. Optionally, you can sprinkle brown sugar onto the mix as it sets.
Set on the counter for 12-24 hours to harden fully or place in the refrigerator for a speedier set. When fully set, texture should be firm but not rock hard as the natural texture should be somewhat soft and squishy due to the high water content. This is what makes this product different than traditional bars of soap.
After cubes have reached their full hardness, they should easily slide out from the mold. I recommend storing in the refrigerator for lasting freshness, however they can be stored at room temperature in an air tight container for up to 2 weeks.
