Petit Vour Beauty Subscription Box: April Review
We are moving right along here in my life lately… it’s like one day just blends right on into the next. I don’t mind it so much because our life is finally falling into a sort of rhythm which, ever since the big move, it hasn’t really had. But at the same time I just feel like it’s all moving too fast and I’m not slowing down as much as I would like to (see also New Years Resolution LOL)! Anyways, that’s a whole saga for another day. Today let’s talk about this past month’s beauty subscription box from Petit Vour which came with yet another round of top notch products. And now, we break down the details of the four items that were included this month.

Blissoma Refine Clay Renewal Treatment
The Rhassoul based clay mask promised to revitalize my skin while also hydrating it and getting rid of flakiness so I was more than excited to try it out. The exfoliation method comes from Willowbark and raw organic celery juice which aid in ridding the dead skin cells in a gentle way. Other ingredients such as Echinacea and Olive Leaf and Rose all aid in firming and toning the skin while ingredients of cranberry and raspberry oil hydrate the skin. I have used this mask three times now and continue to be impressed with the results. The mask dries clear and thin so you almost don’t even notice that it’s there and the results are definitely noticeable. My skin looks brighter and instantly feels smoother after using which was the biggest noticeable difference for me. I can’t say that I noticed too much in the way of moisturizing however my skin definitely didn’t feel tight or dry afterwards like skin can tend to after using a clay mask. Bottom Line: This brightens complexion and leaves the skin feeling soft, great for maintaining great skin.

EIR NYC Active Face Wash
This face wash is made from African Black Soap which is plant based and helps to both exfoliate skin while also nourishing and hydrating it. Black African Soap is also known for reducing fine lines and scarring so this face wash would be a perfect match for anyone with acne or facial scarring. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say this is the BEST face wash I have tried in quite some time and likely the best value for the money. You get the squeaky clean soap feeling after using without the dry feel. The scent is also so lovely, floral and clean smelling all at the same time. The foaming action was also pretty abundant so I felt that it was also good with getting rid of makeup which if not always the case with more natural face wash products. Bottom Line: Multitasking face wash that will leave your skin feeling and smelling amazing and is a great value!

Caley Cosmetics Beach Babe Natural Brows
I love a good eyebrow pencil and this one I must say is AMAZING! It glides on like no other eyebrow pencil I have used and the pigment is extra dense. In fact that would be the only drawback I could see is that the pigment is so dense it is a little “extra” if you are going more so for the natural look. But if you are really wanting your eyebrows to stand out this is the product for you! The addition of jojoba oil and other plant based oils make the product moisturizing while the castor seed oil and rosemary extract will actually promote hair growth! Bottom Line: The perfect pencil for dramatic eyebrows!

Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum
For me I feel it is always hard to review a face serum because I feel like for this type of product results are measured over the course of months and not weeks. For serum reviews I mainly go off of the ingredients in the product + how it makes my skin feel after using. Juice Beauty is a brand I love and this serum is extremely highly rated. The biggest plus for me in this product is the fact that it has been clinically proven to reduce free radicals on the skin by up to 87% with antioxidant rich ingredients like resveratrol and grape seed oil. It also helps plump and revitalize the skin with hyaluronic acid, algae and glycerin. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the fact that even after one use, I could sense a bit of brightness in my complexion! Don’t get me wrong- this was nothing super noticeable but even for a slight difference after one use, I am intrigued to continue using this product. The other things that I loved is that the consistency is not oily at all and it blends into the skin well so it works really well under makeup. In fact, it even smoothed the skin for me so it almost acted as a primer for my makeup which is one of the things I noticed on first use and really enjoyed. Some serums can leave your skin feeling sticky, cakey, oily, or even dried out but this was not the case with this product and in fact my skin felt smoother and balanced (moisture wise) after using. I think I will purchase this product once this one is out and continue using it during this sunny California summer to protect my skin from all those sun rays (AKA aging spots and wrinkles)! Bottom Line: Perfect for summertime or those that live in sunny areas as part of a daily sun protection regimen.

As you can see, I ended up really enjoying everything in this month’s box and am really happy to have been introduced to these products! Can’t wait to see what next month’s box holds…. I’m kind of hoping for a sunscreen or some other type of sun protection product, I feel like this is one area that clean beauty is lacking in so I would love to see some more brands with these types of products. And now, if you’ll excuse me…. it’s back to the daily grind!
