Paleo Orange And Honey Braised Short Ribs
I’m always on the hunt for an easy, yet impressive recipe and lately I’ve even started trying to create my own! Enter the recipe we have here today. I am a huge fan of short ribs, like huge. You can ask my husband, when we go out for a nice dinner you can almost guarantee that if short ribs are on the menu I will be ordering them! I have cooked up some short rib recipes at home before that we have enjoyed, but a taste combination came to mind that I wanted to try out and that’s what brings us to today's recipe. The orange packs a little bit of a flavor punch to these ribs while the honey adds just the right small touch of sweetness, combined with a slow cooking method these ribs are tender and flavorful!! I highly recommend giving these a try for one of your upcoming meals, and if you enjoy it please share this link so others may too!

Paleo Orange & Honey Braised Short Ribs Recipe
You will first want to set out your short ribs so that they can start to get to room temperature a bit. Next you will want to add your seasonings (the last 5 ingredients), orange zest, and honey into a bowl and mix to form a paste.
While you are doing this you will want to warm your avocado oil over the stove on medium high heat in a frying pan. Once your paste is mixed you will then pat your ribs dry so that the seasoning paste will stick to them. Now you will carefully apply the paste on all sides (I used a small spatula to accomplish this) of the ribs (except for the bone) and then sear in your pan for 30 seconds-1 minute per side. Once all sides are seared transfer the ribs to your Dutch oven or slow cooker.
Once you have done this with all of your ribs you will then deglaze your pan. To do this pour about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of your beef broth into the pan and scrape up any remaining seasonings and seared bits that are stuck to your pan, essentially clean your pan with the beef broth. Now pour this liquid into your Dutch oven or slow cooker. Add to this your remaining broth and then the orange juice and cook on low for approximately 6 hours or until the meat is cooked through. I personally always use the crockpot because my dutch oven is packed away but a dutch oven would work just as well.
Serving Suggestions: These pair well with mashed cauliflower and coleslaw salad with orange tahini dressing (a bagged salad version of this is sold at Trader Joes)! Together this combination is a wonderful presentation and will wow family and special guests alike! Bon appetit!
