The Miracle Tummy Oil That Every Woman Should Know About
April 13, 2017- This post has gained a ton of interest in the last few weeks and I thought it important to add some photographic proof of how this oil produces results. I am not talking surgical tummy tuck results, but obvious results nonetheless. See bottom of this post for photos!
This, this right here, is what really made me a believer in the power of essential oils when applied to the body. Like a lot of women, I found myself with sagging skin and stretch marks after birthing my girls. Do not get me wrong- I am proud of these changes to my body and the fact that they represent that I was able to carry two healthy girls to term- but like most women I began to miss my former stomach. The truth of the matter is that stomach is gone, not coming back no matter what I put on it. Sigh. But I have found something that has really helped the appearance of my post baby tummy. Like most things, you need to apply consistently to see results, so make it a part of your morning or bedtime routine. I prefer to apply right before bed as I find the smell soothing but if you are more consistent in the morning then that is perfectly fine too! Just make sure to apply sunscreen or completely cover your abdomen as the Grapefruit Oil has phytotoxic properties, meaning it can cause sunburn if you apply large concentrations topically (which this recipe does not contain) and then are exposed to sun in the area. In addition the oil can transfer onto clothing if you do not let it completely absorb prior to dressing! Below the recipe I have also detailed the properties and benefits of the ingredient oils so you can understand the logic behind using these ingredients. Happy Making!

Ingredients and Supplies Needed
30 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
30 drops Geranium Essential Oil
30 drops Grapefruit Essential Oil
2 oz dark glass dropper bottle
Optional: Avery Labels (the free file is formatted for the 2 inch diameter circle labels)
Update: A kind reader commented about the fact that the Vitamin E oil included in this link also contains rosehip oil and was wondering if extra is necessary. The amount contained in the Vitamin E oil is not enough to help with the fading of stretch marks and revelation of skin tissue that the full strength amount of rosehip oil suggested in the recipe can produce, so both are recommended.
Tummy Tightening Oil Recipe
Fill your 2 oz bottle approximately 2/3 full with Fractionated (liquid) Coconut Oil. Fill the remainder of the bottle, saving a a half inch of space at the top, with the Rosehip Oil. Next place about 15 drops of Vitamin E oil which will help act as your preservative as well as moisturize. With the remaining space add your essential oils. Close the cap and shake well. Apply as many drops as needed to coat entire abdomen and rub in thoroughly. Do this on a daily basis and you should see wonderful results within the first week and results that continue if you consistently apply. Always shake the bottle well before applying to help evenly distribute the oils. Keep bottle out of direct sunlight.
* Please take note on the expiration date of your Rosehip Oil as this oil does tend to go bad after about 6 months to a year. If you are using your tummy tightening oil consistently you should have no problem using up this oil in that amount of time but just wanted to make you aware! In addition, this is why I have added the Vitamin E oil to the recipe to help preserve all ingredients a little longer.
* Also, please take not that both Grapefruit and Geranium Essential Oils have shown to have interaction with certain medications. This is typically only when these oils are ingested so I just mention this out of an abundance of precaution. If you are taking any medications, especially for blood pressure or diabetes, you should still consult with your doctor prior to using.
Oil Properties and Benefits
When considering the properties and benefits of the ingredients listed, keep in mind that majority of the ingredients are the coconut and rose hip oils. The essential oils only make up approximately 4% or less (combined) of the total oil volume. Do not worry, this is more than enough concentration to show results! And if you are ever wanting to calculate percentages of ingredients yourself, use the standard of 2,200 drops on average for a 2 oz bottle to hold. You would then divide the number of drops you are questioning by 2,200 to obtain the overall percentage.
Coconut Oil- This oil is very moisturizing for the skin due to its composition of saturated fats. The small weight molecules of coconut oil also help it to penetrate deeply into the layers if the skin to moisturize from bottom to top!
Rosehip Oil- High in antioxidants like Vitamins C and A. Collagen is the primary building block of healthy, elastic skin and Vitamin C is necessary for collagen production. It has also been shown that due to it's small molecule size, Vitamin A can penetrate into deeper layers of tissue than other oils lacking a high concentration of Vitamin A. These properties make Rosehip Oil able to stimulate strengthening skin cells and help produce new skin cells. This in turn leads to healthier, more elastic skin and lightening and fading of stretch marks and scars.
Frankincense Essential Oil- This powerful essential oil has cytophylactic properties which helps with cell regeneration and turnover. This means it can help heal damaged cells and promote creation of new healthy cells. Frankincense oil also has astringent properties which by definition means that it has the ability to contract and tighten the skin tissue.
Geranium Essential Oil- Similar to Frankincense oil, Geranium oil has both astringent and cytophylactic properties leading to creation of new cells, fading of stretch marks and scars, and tightening of loose skin.
Grapefruit Essential Oil- Similar to Rosehip Oil, Grapefruit Essential Oil is high in antioxidants, particularly Vitamin C which is not only important for healthy collagen production but helps fight signs of aging and tissue damage from things like free radicals and other oxidizing chemicals. This oils has also been shown to help reduce stomach bloating which can certainly keep you stomach from feeling and looking as tight as you would want!
So there you have it, some powerful natural ingredients that can be used in place of other potentially harmful chemicals and procedures. Motherhood is hard enough, do something for you and your body that makes you feel and look great, giving you that extra little boost of confidence!
