Tropical Smoothie Bowl Recipe To Boost Your Health And Immunity

This tropical smoothie is all you need for a flavorful, and healthy breakfast.  It will get your day started off with a boost of protein, vitamin C, and antioxidants.  In this winter season of all the sick and all the yuck it’s nice to have a little immunity boost whenever I can get one (PS I CAN NOT wait for spring!!)!  My family and I have been really into smoothie bowls lately and I’ve been working on a few different creations, and this one has been our favorite so far.  My husband and I love all things tropical and passion fruit is one of our favorite fruits of all.  Along with the super fruit Pitaya (Dragonfruit), you have a powerhouse smoothie bowl just brimming with vitamins, antioxidants and taste!  Now, if you can not locate fresh passion fruits in your area just substitute with extra mango!  Go ahead and mix this goodness up, then close your eyes and let the flavors take you to a far away tropical island!

Ingredients

(Makes one serving)

Smoothie

1(3.5 oz) Packet of Frozen Dragon Fruit (most health grocers sell these in the frozen foods section, I used the Pitaya Plus brand)

1/2 Cup of Frozen Pineapple Chunks

1/2 Cup Plain Non Fat Greek Yogurt

1/8 Cup of Coconut Milk

1 Tablespoon of Shredded Coconut

Garnish

1/4 Cup of Diced, Fresh Mango

1 Tablespoon Chia Seeds Divided Into Two Parts

1 Teaspoon Shredded Coconut

2 Passionfruits

Tropical Smoothie Bowl Recipe

Mix all ingredients for the Smoothie together in a blender.  If mixture becomes too thick to blend you can add more coconut milk, 1/2 Tablespoon at a time.  Ideally your smoothie is a thick consistency such as a milk shake.  Once well blended, pour into your bowl.  Now open up your passionfruit and scoop out the insides of one whole fruit, mix this as well as one part of your chia seeds into the bowl with a spoon.  Top the smoothie bowl with your diced mango, and remaining passionfruit (the fruit scooped out from the outer shell).  Sprinkle with coconut shreds and remaining chia seeds!  Feel free to make your garnishes look prettier than mine... all I could think about was eating it because it looked so good, I didn't have time for stellar presentation LOL!  Enjoy!
