DIY Rose & Honey Face Mask

As those dry winter months keep on lingering I always warmly welcome any opportunity to impart a little bit of moisture and glow back into my face.  My nightly face serum works amazing for me, but I can't help but still feel dryness on my face and skin this time of the year.  I have been dabbling in mask making at home using natural ingredients and up until now I hadn't yet come across a product that naturally "thickened" up my at home masks.

Well after researching I now have many such ingredients in mind to use but today we will focus on the Moroccan Red Clay.  Not only does this awesome ingredient clear pores and minimize the presence of blackheads, but it also helps to rebalance the skin - evening out both tone and dryness when used regularly.  Furthermore, this clay can help to shrink your pores and smooth the texture of your face by way of gentle exfoliation.  Add to this some moisturizing honey and skin power house essential oils and you have one amazing homemade mask!  Ready to give it a try??  Read below to get all the details!

Ingredients & Supplies Needed

1 Tablespoon Moroccan Red Clay Powder

1 Tablespoon Water (Preferably Distilled)

1 Teaspoon Raw Honey

10 Drops Vitamin E Oil

2 Drops Rose Essential Oil

2 Drops Helichrysum Essential Oil

Glass Mixing Bowl

Clean Spoon For Mixing

Face Makeup Brush Or Clean Fingers For Applying Mask

* Option To Use Melrose and Lavender Essential Oils In Place of Rose and Helichrysum for a less expensive alternative

Rose Clay & Honey Mask Recipe

Begin with a clean face that is a bit damp.  Mix together all ingredients well, the mask will be pretty thick at first due to the clay so be sure you mix the liquid in very well to evenly distribute all ingredients.

Once mixed well you can use your makeup brush if it is a very thick and sturdy one, otherwise use you clean fingers to apply the mask.  It should have a thick, putty like texture to it (which is why you may have to use your fingers as opposed to a brush). Now let the mask sit and harden for 5-15 minutes.  The more sensitive and dry your skin stick towards the lower timeframe while oily skin users can go up to 15 minutes.  Do not let the mask harden on your face completely as it will then begin to actually pull moisture from your skin... the reverse of what we want!  Rinse off carefully (so as to avoid a mess), and apply your regular moisturizer.

And there you have it, super easy right!?  If you enjoyed this mask be sure to spread the love and share this recipe!
